Paid time off (PTO)
PayPal values your wellness and wants you to take care of yourself and others in a way that best addresses your needs. Our paid time off (PTO) policy provides the flexibility to use your time for whatever recharges you.
You start earning PTO on your first day of employment:
- First day to the end of your first calendar year — 20 days, prorated according to number of days with the company
- First whole calendar year — 20 days
- Each additional calendar year — 1 additional day per year, up to a maximum of 25 days

Employees receive 4 calendar days of paid leave for their wedding.
Bereavement leave
Bereavement leave
Receive up to 20 days paid bereavement leave for the death of a family member, depending on the relationship.
Sick and hospitalisation leave
Sick and hospitalisation leave
You can take up to 14 days of paid outpatient sick leave each year and up to 60 days of paid hospitalisation leave if you require hospitalisation. This includes 14 days of sick leave.

Expectant mothers are eligible for 16 weeks of paid maternity leave to support them throughout the latter stages of pregnancy and the child's early months.

New fathers are eligible for 4 weeks of paid paternity leave for the birth or adoption of each child, which can be taken flexibly within 12 months of the birth or adoption date of your child.
Shared parental leave
Shared parental leave
As a father, you are eligible for shared parental leave with your partner. If your partner agrees, you can share 4 weeks of your partner's 16 weeks of maternity leave or 12 weeks of adoption leave.
Childcare leave

You are eligible for childcare leave to care for your children.
Parents with children under the age of 13 receive 6 working days of paid childcare leave each year.
Infant care leave
Infant care leave
You receive 12 days of unpaid infant care each year if you have at least one child under age 2. Both fathers and mothers with children under age 2 are eligible to apply for unpaid infant care leave each and 6 working days of paid childcare leave.
Adoption leave
Adoption leave
Mothers who have adopted a child are eligible for 12 weeks of paid adoption leave. Fathers of an adopted child can share up to 4 weeks of your partner's 12 weeks of adoption leave.
Reservist leave
Reservist leave
Reservist leave is provided on an annual basis to give employees the opportunity to refresh their skills in military reserve forces in accordance with Singapore government requirements.
Reservist leave is paid per government guidelines. Both full and part-time male employees are entitled to reservist leave based on the period stipulated in the SAF100 form.
You can apply for reservist leave in Workday under "Request Leave". Ensure to upload a copy of the SAF100 to your leave request and inform your manager as soon as you receive the official call up letter. Submit your request at least 3 weeks prior to the activity, as the Make-Up Pay claim needs to be submitted to MINDEF at least 2 weeks before the ORNS activity begins.

Community Impact leave
Through our charitable giving initiative, PayPal Gives, you’re eligible for paid Community Impact time off at 100% of your base pay for 8 hours per year while volunteering at a qualifying charitable organization. Community Impact time off is available after your first year of employment.

If you have exhausted your paid leave, you may be entitled to take leave without pay.
In extraordinary circumstances, PayPal may provide unpaid personal leave for up to 30 days to eligible employees in good standing who need to take time off from work to fulfil urgent personal obligations not covered by paid leave.
